Responsible for all software design and development. Work with owner to determine requirements for hardware and software. Developed framework on iOS device to allow real time translation of MIDI commands from the companies standard organ commands to the commands necessary for proper playback on the customers organ. Currently the application supports over 40 different organs, and is easily expandable.Currently designing a scheme to make these translation components downloadable from the companies website. This task involves abstracting four major command structures for the various organs. Within the major command structures, there are several subgroup that need to be accounted for and implemented efficiently.Developed a managed C++ application to intercept MIDI messages from an organ and translates these messages into the company standard MIDI commands for recording and eventual inserting into the company database. Developed a managed C++ application that periodically queries the company's SQL database for MIDI files that need to be converted into MP3 files. When a MIDI file is found, it is downloaded via ftp then converted to wav file via a vSTi plugin that synthesizes the organ sound from the MIDI commands. Then the wav file is converted to MP3 via DirectShow and uploaded via ftp, then the SQL record for that file is updated to signal the server that the conversion is complete.Prototyped a hardware module that plugs into a MIDI capable instrument, and communicates to an Android device via Bluetooth allowing the Android device to control the instrument.

The system uses Google protocol buffers to format data transfer between the client and server.Added the ability for the slot machine to have a separate bonus game installed along side the current game. In this multi-process environment it required coordinating three separate processes ( game, system, and bonus ) via an in-house IPC mechanism to determine if a bonus game was triggered, and starting the bonus game at the appropriate time while holding the system in a game in play state.

Architect and lead developer for Konami's G2S protocol implementation for their slot machines. The implementation was developed to be independent of the slot machine code only requiring a facade layer to be changed between various platforms. This allows any type of middleware to facilitate communication between the G2S code and the slot machine code. Both a CORBA over TCP/IP and a shared memory driver were implemented. This also allows the G2S code and the slot machine code to be run on different processors. The G2S implementation communicates with the casinos accounting and control servers via SOAP over HTTPS. The protocol defined fourteen different sections for accounting and control, the G2S implementation was designed so that these different sections were separate entities, allowing for developers to work on sections independently and seamlessly bringing them together for integration.Architect of the mechanical reel and lighting drivers for the current generation of mechanical reel slot machines. The mechanical reels required a natural language text interface over TCP/IP. Using Boost's Spirit allowed a grammar to be created that parsed the responses from the reel controller and perform the necessary actions. The lighting driver is written as a Windows kernel driver that communicates with a custom FPGA via a memory mapped interface.
