My family moved to Dierks in 1971 when I was ten years old. I attended elementary and high school in Dierks, graduating in 1979.I attended and graduated Henderson State University with a BA in Sociology. Beginning my senior year of high school I started working at HMB Rock Quarry. I worked there for 16 years starting out as a laborer and worked my way up to production foreman over the crushing operation. In 1993 I left the quarry and hired on at the De Queen and Eastern Railroad as a railcar mechanic. During my time with the railroad I worked in the repair shop, machine shop, and mill supply, and facilitated some of the safety programs used on the railroad.I was furloughed from the railroad in 2008 due to a downsizing economy. In 2010 I was fortunate enough to be hired by CTEH to assist on the Deep Horizon project. Upon demobing from the gulf and traveling back to Arkansas I recieved a call to work in Romeoville Illinois.After arriving back home from Romeoville my next call was to travel to Sheffield Illinois to work a chemical storage fire. After that job I worked a train derailment in Midville GA. My next job was in Marshall MI this lasted from June through October of 2011. I worked a gas well blowout in Wyoming next. 2012 found me working in Braithwait LA after hurricane Issac had come through there. Later that year I worked in New York City after hurricane Sandy and finished the year working a train derailment in Paulsboro NJ. 2013 became an international year when I traveled to Lac Megantic Quebec Canada after working in Delhi LA, Flowood MS, Fort Worth TX, Pasadena TX, La Port Tx, Maumell AR and West Tx.Needless to say my geographic horizons have been expanded beyond the boarders of Arkansas and I am greatful to CTEH for that opportunity. I really enjoy the work I do for this company and the great folks that I get to work with.
