Mark has acquired extensive experience in the resources and property sectors during his career and has a proven track record of securing major developments across a number of Australian jurisdictions. In his current role, Mark oversees Yancoal’s corporate “Environment & Community” group, with responsibility across multiple jurisdictions (federal, NSW, Queensland and Western Australia) for:• Statutory environmental approvals;• Environmental compliance;• Community relations;• Government relations;• Tenement management; and• Property. Mark has successfully led some of Yancoal’s most significant and ambitious approval and modification projects in recent years, including:• Moolarben Stage 2 expansion;• Stratford Extension Project; • Ashton South East Open Cut; • Austar Bellbird South longwalls; and• Cameby Downs Expansion project. Mark is also responsible for the negotiation and management of Yancoal’s overlapping tenements regime with the gas companies in both Queensland and NSW.Mark was formerly General Manager (Environment & Community Relations) at Gloucester Coal before it was acquired by Yancoal in 2012.Prior to his work in the resources industry, Mark was the Development Director at one of Australia’s leading property groups, Charter Hall, for over 12 years. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science (Eng), Civil Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Sydney.
