To contribute to the preparation of tender bids and financial estimates for work to be undertaken by the company.Manage projects won from these tendersAnalyse the content of specifications and drawings and identify the product realisation costs (to the company) in terms of labour, materials, and resources.Liase with, and to assist as necessary, the staff responsible for procurement, to identify prices and costs to the company of the above labour, materials and resources.Liase with senior management to identify the cost factors to be used in terms of overheads and profit.To use all the information identified above to build a cost schedule suitable for use as a job estimate or formal tender bid.Assist with the preparation of tender documentation in support of the bid.To assist with the identification of elements contributing towards cost with a view to suggesting alternatives to reduce costs and/or improve quality or efficiency.Professional knowledge/qualification with skill and experience of the technical elements of the steel fabrication and installation industry, particularly use of materials and manufacturing techniques in heavy construction.Knowledge and experience in the management of health and safety to comply with the statutory requirements necessary for work undertaken under normal area of responsibility (Risk Assessment, PPE, COSSH, RIDDOR and CDM).Knowledge, skill and experience in contract/project management for medium to high value/prestigious works.Knowledge, skill and experience in the preparation of cost estimates/quotations, methods of work, quality plans, specifications, works programmes, safety plans and performance appraisals.Knowledge, skill and experience in employee management, supervision, training and development.
