FIT’s mission is to promote an inclusive Smart Economy by creating a fast track to marketable technical skills for those at risk of long term unemployment. It is the primary industry skills development initiative facilitating collaboration with government, education and training providers in disadvantaged communities to enable greater access to employment for marginalised job seekers. My current role as a Training & Employment Officer is to oversee the vocational/skills training, career development and mentoring of FIT students ranging from QQI level 4-6. As the first point of contact for students, it is my role to deliver employability training to students and to ensure they are industry-ready upon completion of their course. This training this evolves one to one coaching sessions with students, group workshops and various classes. Duties include;-Career Coaching-Aptitude testing (Diagrammatic, Numeric, Literacy)-CV and interview workshops, mock interviews with one to one feedback for each student.-The development and maintenance of relationships with companies, contracted training companies and Education and Training boards throughout Ireland -Delivering training and resources including all aspects of employability training -Career progression and employment strategies -Ongoing mentoring support-Development, implementation and maintenance of social media marketing campaigns Show less
