The organization consists of 550 full time personnel with over 4,000 service members, civilians, and contractors assigned during crisis and exercises. As the Director, G5, was personally accountable to the 3 - star Commander and managed 5 direct reports with a total team of 26 expert planners and strategists coordinating cross functional initiatives locally, nationally, and globally.

While working as a fellow, Mark performed consulting and executive operational planning duties that allowed him to supported several efforts for the Chief Human Resource Officer including the CEO’s Strategic Workforce Planning initiative. By networking across lines of business and staff agency Chiefs of Staff and Business Partners, he successful completed key strategic initiatives that required stakeholder alignment and resource mapping to 2030 workforce planning concepts. Specifically, during this cohort Mark supported the development and finalization of the CHRO five strategic planning initiatives and white papers ahead of board presentation at the Strategy Offsite.

Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas is a mid -career education program that provides a master’s degree education to Army, Joint, and international officers. Mark educated over 100 mid-grade officers on strategy and planning processes, national security policy methods, complex problem-solving approaches, and leadership development skills. Success required the rapid implementation of COVID 19 protocols and adapted coursework methods for students to receive timely instruction, certification, and credentialing for graduation.

The organization consists of 1,250 full time personnel with over 6,000 service members, civilians, and contractors assigned during crisis and exercises. Personally accountable to the 2 - star Commander and managed four direct reports with a total team of 20 expert planners and strategists coordinating cross functional initiatives nationally and globally. Mark transformed military operations in Central and South America by increasing the US military’s return on investment by reorienting resources toward risk mitigating initiatives such as modernizing equipment and capability gaps toward nation-state competitors. Additionally, he led the crisis action planning for twenty cross functional team members during six natural disasters and multiple joint and interagency training and certification exercises.
