Under my management, the Salad Bar inside Sweetwater Sound is not only the best and biggest salad bar in town but features unique weekly salads. These made to order specialty dishes provide employees and guests with an experience they don't soon forget. Homemade dressings, fresh cut fruit daily, and over 40 different salad toppings make the garden station a challenging position. Creating relationships with patrons, including some of the 2000 employees, has provided me with a broader network and given me direction for excelling in my role. Offering more options and providing more desirable products has greatly improved the amount of repeat customers in the restaurant.

Using computer skills I learned at Purdue University I quickly created checklists to aid in training employees, order sheets for accuracy and speed, and provided timelines for event planning. This resulted in employees being trained up to 50% faster, ordering up to 100% faster and made event planning more precise. Also managed the P.O.S. system for tracking profits, food cost, and providing ease of use for employees.My communication skills ensured guests had the best experience that I could provide. The hotel has seen continued business from the Anthony Wayne Rotary Club because of the care and attention paid to the details of their events. Being personable and available has gave them trust in our team that we could handle not only the weekly meetings but also their leadership meetings and holiday functions.Through my networking skills the Sous Chef and I promoted our pizza menu which I was instrumental in creating both the recipes and cooking style. We networked to nearby businesses to promote our restaurant's many unique menu items. We generated sales for our food and beverage department and also the Holiday Inn through networking with multiple nearby businesses. By recommending activities near the hotel like Dead Eye Dick's Axe Throwing, and they would mention our restaurant as a great dinner location.

Through training and knowledge based testing I had the confidence to advise customers on how to best protect thier homes and businesses. My dedication to protecting people showed and customers requested me by name when having issues with thier security systems. Having a personal connection provided me with the ability to create revenue by suggesting protection upgrades such as smoke detectors, CO2 detectors and perimeter sensors.I used my organization skills to keep track of my inventory daily, process and send paperwork weekly and be efficient with my time spent at each worksite. I improved my average time spent on a worksite such that the dispatch program provided less time per job and more jobs per day on my docket. I was able to maintain my effiecency dispite my increased workload.My project planning skills were put to good use when my regional manager directed me to organize a volunteer project for field service professionals in my surrounding area. I choose the Community Harvest Food Bank in Fort Wayne because I had given back to the community through them previously.
