Tameside, Greater Manchester

Responsible for managing a team of six reporters on a local weekly newspaper. The role focused on ensuring two editions were produced weekly - with responsibility for content, design, personnel issues, marketing and promotions. I had previously worked as a junior reporter on the paper from 1997-1999 and worked on the Harold Shipman case. As well as management responsibilities I also carried out sub-editing and page layout tasks and supported the editor in ensuring production deadlines were met.
