I have been involved with REACH Siem Reap, a community based school in Cambodia since its inception in 2019. In the last 5 years much has happened to improve the lives of young children and their families but there is still a large ongoing need for support.REACH Siem Reap was set up by a young Australian woman (now 31) with a view to breaking the cycle of poverty in disadvantaged communities in Cambodia. The country is still feeling the lasting effects of the devastation inflicted on the Cambodian people back in the 1970’s.Breaking the cycle of poverty centres on raising awareness of the programs offered by REACH and seeking financial support wherever possible to allow life-saving and life-changing programmes to run. Examples of the programmes offered include:- Education commencing from Kindergarten to High School- Provision of health services and nutrition- Outreach to assist families living in severe poverty eg community workshops, medical and dental, emergency financial assistance, and family planning.I enjoy taking opportunities to raise awareness and financial assistance to support the life-changing work being carried out at REACH Siem Reap, Cambodia.www.reachsiemreap.org
