About Mark M.

An ambitious and driven Media, Marketing, Communications and PR Professional boasting a strong skill-set, and having spent over 18 years serving two of North Staffordshire’s biggest organisations, Stoke City Football Club and bet365. A confident and proactive individual, I spent 15 years at Stoke City Football Club operating in a number of different roles, including Digital Media Editor, Publications & Social Media Editor and PR & Press Executive, often serving as the first point of call for local, national and international media. This included representing the first-team squad on a large number of international trips, publicising the club and maximising brand exposure with positive PR opportunities in previously untouched locations such as the United States, Egypt and Singapore. Also boasting outstanding written skills, I oversaw the development and creation of all club publications and online content, including matchday programmes, bi-monthly magazines as well as commercial and community brochures, whilst also establishing stokecityfc.com as one of the most efficient and engaging official football club websites in the UK; continuously suggesting and innovating new ways of engaging with supporters. My duties also required me to attend all first-team fixtures, both at home and abroad, producing written articles, features and match reports as well as writing press releases for multi-million pound first-team acquisitions, high-profile commercial agreements and other relevant club business. A keen and active user of social media, I also played a role in implementing a clear social media strategy to help build the growth of their official Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and Snapchat platforms to a captive audience of over 3,500,000. During the summer of 2019 however, I made the decision to jump out of my comfort zone, re-challenge myself and undertake a new role with global online betting leader bet365, operating as a sub-editor within their highly-regarded and recently renovated Sports Content team. Regular duties include producing and editing editorial content to market and promote bet365’s many award-winning casino, gaming and sports products and offers, branching across a plethora of different sports including Premier League and Champions League football. NFL, NBA, PGA Tour golf events and high-profile race meetings and festivals. Since then, I have furthered my credentials as a Senior Content Producer within the new Sports & Betting News team.
