As a security intern at NASB I was assigned many jobs to keep the company and its' employees safe online. I actively monitored virusdefinitions in Symantec to ensure no computers fall out of date and get infected and ran scans through Nessus Professional todiscover any potential vulnerabilities and send out patches to fix them. In Office 365 I both checked spam emails to update quarantinedefinitions and forwarded emails for employees that went on vacation or got sick. I also reviewed daily reports concerning varioussoftware like Patch Manager to ensure every computer has the tools it needs to block viruses and other malware. On top of this, Ihelped construct and execute two quarterly phishing tests through KnowB4 to help monitor how the employees handle phishingattempts. I was also assigned projects outside the normal scope of my tasks, one of which was building the framework to automatethe onboarding and offboarding processes in Adaxes, which will streamline the work done by the IT department as well as allowemployees the ability to solve some issues currently tasked to the IT department for themselves. Throughout my time I helped auditapplications to ensure their user lists were up to date and ensure that a former employee could not cause any damage. At the end ofmy internship, I was able to successfully instruct some of my full time team members on how to perform some of my daily tasks likecomputer hardening, where I would ensure that any new computers being issued to an employee have the proper applicationsinstalled and BitLocker active, and the duties I had in Office365.
