To date, my career has taken me on an amazing journey, building businesses, growing teams and delivering on my promises to shareholders and my family.Now with 14 years in the property industry behind me, I can honestly say that I’ve particularly enjoyed the last six as they have allowed me to work specifically within the care sector and make a difference to people’s lives.Though my work requires me to have full understanding and accountability for all asset management, for me, the most important asset will always be the people we serve and the futures we help to build. While I have to stay up to speed with all rules, regulations and governance within building, planning and property, it is without a doubt, that I have always found that the biggest strength needed is the ability to build great relationships with stakeholders - such as LAs, Housing Providers and Care Organisations. While I believe that skills, qualifications and expertise are important in doing a quality job, ensuring you get the maximum impact from everything you do, relationships are key. As well as holding memberships and licenses with the professional associations that you would expect in my field, such as ARLA, Property Redress and HMO, the one that brings me the most enjoyment is the position of trust and care I hold as an accredited Welfare Officer through Manchester FA. Grassroots sport is incredibly important to me. It is a powerful motivator and tool for empowering young people and supporting them to achieve the outcomes in life that they deserve.
