For the last five of my eight years with Rotork I worked my way up to the Project Manager due to my extensive experience in coordinating between internal and corporate projects to establish new capabilities and services. This was done by proving my ability to meet aggressive deadlines by developing and executing project plans while collaborating with production and quality. Extensive projects required multiple onsite visits and sometimes weekly in person meetings to ensure customized products would meet customer expectations. Regularly scheduled weekly meetings with project managers, coordinators and Contractors. I reviewed project specifications and Bill of Materials, setup Purchase Orders and checked inventory. Sourced quotes from local machinists, vendors and suppliers and reviewed received material for accuracy against prints and checked for defects.

At the beginning of my professional career as a Contracts Engineer, I performed the duties of interpreting customer specifications to quote industrial products, negotiated contracts and contract changes, generated data sheets, assembled submittals and performed onsite installation startup. My team was routinely pulled into meetings with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and their primary contractors to perform as a sub-contractor.This included duties such as reviewing blueprints and specifications, answering contractor submittal questions, coordinating deliveries of products with project managers, producing dimensional layout drawings and directly interacted with customers to provide updates on projects.

While earning my Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, I worked for Dr. Junhong Chen in a Nanomaterials laboratory perfecting a chemical sensor made from Nanowires and Nanoparticles. This work provided me with hands on experience with laboratory equipment seldom used by most Mechanical Engineers including vacuum pumps, tube furnaces, developing clean room procedures and using an industrial scale Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). I developed a keen attention to detail, designed laboratory experiments and learned to establish timelines.

As an undergraduate I worked most summers as an intern at Dadson Corporation which built large industrial scale CNC milling machines that specialized in Gundrilling. I was primarily the wiring technician wherein I would review layout drawings and circuit diagrams to setup the control panel cabinets that housed the electro-mechanical components that automated these machines. After installation of the circuit breakers, solenoids and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) I would number and wire up these components. I would then assist with both the startup and trouble shooting of the machines if required. This would involve extensive review of the ladder logic that controlled the PLCs and review of the wiring schematics to verify all wiring was correctly setup.

Developed an economic analysis that determined the feasibility of implementing a new sand recycling system; which would have increased productivity by 70 percent as a result of slashing part processing time, reduced waste from sand by 75 percent and ended up saving the company 312,000 dollars per year.
