I am a Software Engineer with over 28 years of experience in the industry. My varied career includes 12 years as a contractor to the federal government for companies including Lockheed Martin, Edge Technologies, and MRJ (now General Dynamics), and Aerodyne Industries. I also have 16 years of experience in the private sector working for Eastman Chemical Company, a fortune 500 chemical company based in Kingsport, TN. Most of my career has been as a software engineer, designing, developing, deploying, and supporting applications in multiple languages (C, C++, Visual Basic, .NET, ASP, Java).In addition to a Software Engineer, I also have served roles as a Business Analyst, working with various customers to determine software needs and generating solutions to meet those needs. I have experience with integrating various COTS products, including SAP and Sales Force.More recently, I have served as an Operations Build Engineer, determining configuration needs for the Launch Control System at Kennedy Space Center. As part of this role, I worked with customers to determine operational needs and deliver those needs in a timely fashion, while ensuring that all processes were followed, and all required documentation was in place.My most recent position is Supervisor of the Command and Control Academy at Kennedy Space Center. My responsibilities include hiring talent for the Command and Control directorate including both operations and software development candidates. In just under two years, I have hired over 50 employees, plus 18 that I inherited from the previous supervisor. Once hired, I perform all onboarding tasks and train the new hires on the Launch Control System. I then ensure they are placed into departments where they can be most effective. I attend recruiting events, evaluate resumes, and conduct interviews.
