Dec 2015 to May 2017:Interim Chief Operating Officer (COO)National Composites Centre - BristolAppointed initially on a 6 month contract in December 2015 (through Morson International) to establish & demonstrate a 'Chief Operating Officer' function; a new approach for this Research & Technology organisation.The initial task was to create a single coherent team comprising managers with responsibilities for Programme Management, Facilities, H&S, Finance, HR, Procurement, IT & Quality, to deliver the day to day 'trading performance' of the organisation.Multiple improvement initiatives were proposed within an operational improvement plan, relating to budgeting, forecasting, operational planning, health & safety management and other key operational topics. Significant input was made to key leaders through coaching and mentoring.A second contract was awarded to drive the delivery of these initiatives whilst a permanent COO was identified and recruited.www.bassom-moore.co.uk
