Emphasis is to supervise 12 staff members on the Phase I oncology team within the Clinical Investigations Core. Duties consist of protocol pre-review, finance oversight, creating careplans for new Phase I protocols and serving as primary coordinator on numerous Phase I oncology trials as well as carrying a patient and data workload. My over-reaching goal is to ensure that my team maintains the high level of quality expected at a nationally recognized cancer center while providing a stimulating and desirable workplace environment. I have worked with industry-sponsored trials as well as NCI and PI-initiated trials. I strive for excellence through attention to detail, pride in our institution's reputation and a desire to serve our patient population with the best service and care while enrolled to one of our clinical trials. I am a very flexible team player, extremely efficient with time management, easily adaptable to any given situation and work well within the team dynamic.

Helped to set up a translational research laboratory and subsequently performed basic research into the molecular mechanisms of cancer. Worked with novel compounds from both small and large pharmaceutical companies in a "bench to bedside" manner ( i.e. taking novel compounds from the lab to human trials ). Additionally, I performed various biomarker and phamacodynamic assays from patient samples to measure effects of anti-cancer treatments.
