I am a Chartered Accountant and CFA Charterholder with over 11 years experience in the offshore finance industry. I currently serve as an independent director on the boards of Web3 businesses and proprietary trading vehicles structured in the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands.I am one of the OG Web3 professionals in the Cayman Islands where my professional history extends back to the ICO boom in 2017 where I was involved with some of the earliest blockchain projects to domicile in the Cayman Islands and had the privilege of working with some of the pioneers of the industry. As a highlight, this included a 2 year secondment as an employee to what has since become a household name and one of the most integrated platforms in DeFi and Web3. Amongst other things, I was involved with their token sale and responsible for their accounting, operational matters and tax reporting. This was achieved at a time when accounting and tax for concepts like token treasuries, crypto wallets and token-based payments were in their infancy stage - and virtually unknown in the Cayman Islands. I have since witnessed the continued evolution of the offshore Web3 industry where I now sit on the boards of foundations that support some of the most well-known blockchain protocols and projects of today. As it relates to independent governance in general, I have sat on boards and chaired meetings for large institutional grade investment funds as well as offshore subsidiaries of a number of the world’s largest multinational corporations. As an independent director, I have balanced stakeholder interests and managed the complexities and stresses of contentious litigation scenarios on behalf of client entities. I am well versed in the Cayman regulatory landscape and am acquainted with a broad spectrum of attorneys and relevant providers that routinely service offshore entities.
