Reporting to the CFO and periodically to the board, and as a member of the revenue risk management committee, I was responsible for the development and delivery of the operational financial, treasury, tax, forecasting and reporting aspects of the finance function which commenced immediately after the organisation was dual ASX and NZX listed.Leading a team of five direct reports, deliverables included the preparation, reporting and lodgement of all statutory and regulatory audit and tax activities for listed, AFSL and subsidiary legal entities. Reporting to the CEO, and as a member of the executive team, I was responsible for the design, development and delivery of all aspects of the finance function for this start up electricity and gas utilities retailer.Other associated responsibilities included the creation of capital management plans, development of corporate governance, risk and regulatory compliance frameworks and the implementation and monitoring of risk and delegation settings. I was also responsible for the setup and management of the treasury and energy derivative trading functions and for overall reporting to the board, seed capital investors and other related third parties.Key achievements- Capital management leadership and structuring of start up debt and equity facilities- Business case development for successful granting of retail AER electricity and Victorian gas licences- Maintained fiscal control during a period of sustained start up growth and operational development

Reporting to the Head of Finance Transformation, I was responsible for planning, design and implementation of the SAP Controlling system and associated management reporting framework including integration with other SAP Finance, Business Planning & Consolidation and Project systems.Other associated responsibilities included the leadership of multi-national decentralised teams and stewardship of the benefits realisation case. Reporting to the Group Manager of Shared Services, I was responsible for the leadership and coordination of start-up finance activities and stakeholder relationship management activities for new business international renewable energy joint ventures and captive insurance operations based in Singapore, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Chile.Other associated responsibilities included board and audit committee reporting, leadership of cash calls, monthly reporting, budget and strategic plan design and facilitation and the selection and management of audit and tax service providers.Key achievements- Designed the external tender processes for the selection of international ERP solutions- Development of a financial risk and compliance report to track external reporting obligations- Setup of the finance and governance framework for a new international captive insurance solution

Reporting to the Director of Business Development & Client Relationships, I was responsible for the management of the fund onboarding process for new clients, management of existing client relationships and the redesign of the global controllership and risk framework for reporting processes.Other associated responsibilities included membership of the global risk committee and procedures and agreements committee, determining and negotiating fees, reviewing hedge fund documents for complex multi-jurisdictional legal structures and oversight of global reporting across 4 regions totaling over USD 140 billion of assets.Key achievements- Integration and launch of new funds with over USD 15.0 billion of initial seed assets- Design and implementation of a distressed fund database during the global financial crisis- Developed a suite of of standard operating procedures for departmental activities

Reporting to the Fund of Fund Group Head, I was responsible for end to end contracting, pricing, performance management calculation, profit and loss, cash flow and treasury management activities for 6 multi-currency hedge funds with a net asset value (NAV) of USD 700 million invested in 200+ sub fund positions.Other associated responsibilities included the annual preparation and completion of 9 sets of statutory financial statements and associated timely filings and the review and execution of USD 7.0 billion of monthly FX hedging fund subscription and redemptions.Key achievements- Led monthly trading activities (average USD 500 million across 150+ trades within a 3-day period)- Implementation of standardised calculation methodologies for periodic unit price reporting cycles

Reporting to the European Financial Controller I was responsible for all treasury activities of the division across 21 European countries, 15 currencies, 100 legal entities with a combined balance sheet value over USD 3.5 billion.As a senior member of the leadership team I was responsible for the management, training and development of over 20 professionally qualified and part qualified team members located in The Netherlands and India.I lead the implementation of new divisional treasury activities into 10 new growth Eastern European countries, provided advice on treasury accounting matters including impacts on US GAAP and statutory reporting and provided effective cash pool sweeping mechanisms, management reporting and forecasting, interest and FX rate management advice to minimise risk and maximise net income opportunities for the division.Key achievements- Refinancing and restructuring activities totaling over USD 400 million to optimise tax planning outcomes- Timely completion of a number of European wide IT, controllership, governance and planning projects- Achievement of Sarbanes Oxley compliance certification for treasury processes

Reporting to the European Accounting Manager, I was responsible for the preparation and delivery of financial, management and tax reporting for 15 UK and Ireland multi-currency statutory legal entities. Other associated responsibilities included balance sheet reconciliation activities, budget preparation and associated periodic variance analysis reporting, US GAAP reporting, business partnering support for regional management teams and IT finance system integration for new business acquisitions.
