Managed the District's Hazardous Waste site Remediation Programs (Superfund, Base Realignment and Closure, Formerly Used Defense Sites, FUSRAP) and design and construction support for Army and Air Force facilities in New England. The annual workload averaged $100M.* Led the evaluation process for the District's pre-placed remediation contracts.* Supervisor and mentor to 10-14 senior project managers.* Consistently met or exceeded program goals (contract awards, project completions) with many award winning projects.* Managed the remediation of some of the nation's most complex and challenging sites, including New Bedford Harbor, Housatonic River, Elizabeth Mine, Eastland Woolen Mill, and the Massachusetts Military Reservation.* Maintained and enhanced the District's outstanding working relationship with EPA Region 1.* Led and participated in many Army "Best Value:" procurements for remediation, architect-engineer, environmental service and design/build contracts.* Represented and presented for the District at Corps of engineers events and those hosted by industry and professional associations.

Work was typically ongoing at 15-20 sites with annual expenditures between $30 and $100M.* Supervisor and mentor to 6 senior project managers.* Managed the remediation of many of the region's most complex and challenging Superfund sites.* Maintained and enhanced the District's outstanding relationship with EPA Region 1.* Consistently met and exceeded EPA's requirements for contract awards, project phase completions and construction completions.* Led and participated in numerous contract evaluation boards for remediation, architect-engineer and professional service contracts.* Represented the District at Corps of Engineers events and those hosted by industry and professional associations.

Waltham, Ma

* Served as project manager for several complex EPA Region 1 Superfund sites. New Bedford Harbor was one of the nation's most complex contaminated sediment sites.* Managed several controversial incineration projects (Baird & McGuire and New Bedford Harbor).* Participated in and presented at numerous public meetings and workshops, many of them contentious.* Served as both EPA project manager and New England District project manager at the Silresim Superfund site, a very unique situation in the Corps of Engineers/EPA relationship.* Made numerous technical presentations on project issues at both Corps of Engineers and industry events.
