Born and raised within a stones throw of the mighty Pacific Ocean, I developed an early interest in team sports and…rocks. This unique combination helped foster my pursuit of effective teamwork and problem solving through the application of practical engineering and project management principles. After completing a Bachelor’s of Applied Science in Geological Engineering from The University of British Columbia, I have spent over 10 years successfully executing energy projects across North America. My project experience includes hydroelectric development and electricity transmission in the remote corners of British Columbia to the Great Smoky Mountains of the Southern United States. A change of scenery in 2014 brought me to the expansive plains of the Canadian Prairies where I currently manage pipeline maintenance, facility integrity and environmental remediation work. These experiences have helped me gain an appreciation of the vast range of challenges that can affect projects throughout the project life cycle. They have also allowed me to apply the lessons learned during years of participation in team environments to my professional work: collaboration, perseverance, achieving goals and adaptability. My communication and interpersonal skills enable me to manage various stakeholder groups while meeting strategic objectives. I continued my commitment to personal development by increasing my industry knowledge and leadership capabilities through the completion of a Master’s Degree in Earth and Energy Resources Leadership from Queen’s University. I’m confident that I can utilize these skills to add value in the resource sector, and to manage projects of increasing complexity.
