As a Director for Surrey Wildlife Trust, I fulfil a critical strategic role within the organisation with accountability for a highly productive Department. The role has autonomy and responsibility for overseeing a significant department including much of the organisation’s contractual, statutory obligations and primary objectives. I have delivered material change and robust operational improvements which have transformed the way the Trust operates today, as well as providing the building blocks to ensure long term viability and significant positive change for the environment.

The role encompassed a broad range of leadership roles, in which I thrive.Key Accountabilities:• Leadership and co-ordination of the Department and associated programmes.• Develop policies, source external funding, and manage department budgets.• External liaison/advocacy that promote the key principles of the organization to galvanize support. Key Achievements:• Deliver the Trust’s objectives, setting a programme of biodiversity priorities to meet the conservation targets to be implemented through policy and conservation work.• Oversee a range of projects including a number of flagship Living Landscape Projects, Partnership projects and acquired funding e.g. Heritage Lottery Fund for a number of the activities.• Contributed to the business plan for the Trust and managed the approved budget and resources in accordance with the business plan.
