Currently working at Vodafone in Managed Engineering Services as a Field Engineer on a wide ranging number of contracts.

Currently employed by Ericsson as a Field Engineer. Engaged in a multi contract and multi vendor situation. Current role is to investigate and interrogate faults at Base Stations or at MTX Locations on the Vodafone, O2, EE and 3 contracts. This is a multi vendor contract with multi vendor equipment. Dealing with the following vendors equipment in the field or in an MTX location, Huawei, Nokia, Ericsson, Alcatel, Lucent and Siae. The role is to fault find and repair or replace the equipment within the different customers agreed SLA's. Once the fault is identified, the equipment is either repaired at site or replaced with a spare part. The role at the base stations is dealing with with radio equipment, or the transmission network with comprises of microwaves or leased lines. With leased lines dealing with BT Tellabs, BT ADVA or Vodafone’s ADVA and Tellabs equipment. I have good knowledge of Vodafone’s microwave network. I have worked on ATP/BEP projects and have extensive knowledge of SRA4, SRAL XD, Flexi Packet Hub and Flexi Packet radio. In the MTX locations it is mainly dealing with core network elements, for example RNC's, MSC's and transmission equipment. Also in my role I carry out Health and Safety audits, Site Responsibility Checks and PPM Audits to see if the sites are ICNIRP compliant.The role requires been on call and following a shift pattern.

Originally employed as an Installation Engineer for base stations and in MTX locations. After 12 months I joined Local Enhancement. The role was the undertaking of all new entities in the network. The rollout and acceptance and integration of BSC's, MSC's and RNC's in to the network. Also the rollout and upgrades to existing equipment. This could involve BSC's, MSC's and RNC's plus other equipment in Vodafone's network involving transmission. The job would involve working nights and weekends. In 2005 the above role was absorbed in the Combined Field Force, where the role encompassed the above but added the role of Base Station Engineer. This role now included installation, commissioning and fault finding at Vodafone's base stations, as well as MTX locations. The role required been on call and following a shift pattern.
