There are several issues that the Wheat Improvement Team works to solve. Top priorities are:Making it easier to feed the global population.Increase yields per acre so that farmers make more with less.Fighting harsh growing conditions and disease to eliminate the risk of a poor harvest.This all starts with 1000s of first generation wheat plants grown in the greenhouses just off Oklahoma State's main campus. The seed they produce will be planted in the fields and the best wheat heads they produced will be hand harvested. From their this process fine tunes until over a decade later and a new variety of Wheat is released to the world.I'm proud that I contributed to producing several world feeder wheat varieties such as 2023's High Cotton.

When you finally graduate yourself, you'll feel even more proud that it's your turn to walk up on the stage that OSU set up for you.
