I have spent 17 years in the insurance industry, working in sales, claims, customer service and physician contracting (network management). The 4 years spent in sales I did both commercial and personal, property, casualty, life and health and the last 13 years I spent working in the health and wealth area, focusing on employee benefits. Currently I am enjoying working for my alma mater, having a large financial impact in my areas of budget and hopefully quality. If I would say I have had a knack in a certain area, it would be finding areas that are (financially) inefficient and improving them. My first job out of college I became a purchasing agent and loved it and while I was there, I saved the company so much money in our first year that it more than paid for my salary and we increased sales by over 20% while still spending less on materials than the prior year. While working for Aetna Insurance, I submitted multiple cost savings suggestions, of which 2 were implemented and saved the company nearly 2 million dollars a year. Since being here at Concordia, I have reduced costs by buying in bulk, changing suppliers and getting more cost effective contracts. My goal, to work for a company that will reward people for their work and ideas.Specialties: Purchasing, benefits knowledge and contract negotiations. I am good with math and have an eye for architecture.
