CurrentTechnical description: If it's broke try to fix it, try to put events together professionally and hope the students learn a thing or two. After 50 years in the broadcast business this is my semi-retirement life event. I suppose someday I will hang it all up, but it is still fun, and not going anywhere soon. The events the students and advisors produce are not the glitz that you see on Monday Night Football or the NBA Game of the Week, but the fundamentals and professional equipment are there for them and experience is hands on from day one, and when they graduate, they can apply for positions in the field, and many have.A great friend of mine and mentor once said "Television, just a passing fad" He spent his career in local radio. I guess it could be said of TV. Whatever form it is or becomes, the basic fundamentals of light, camera, sound behind the camera will be the same. Someday I will grow up and get a real job, but till then.........
