Responsible for positioning biotechnology in the entire Eastern Region (27 counties) of North Carolina, with short and long-term economic development goals through projects and strategies stimulating the development of biotechnology.Responsible for facilitation of partnerships among government, business, academic, policy, and educational participants; by representing the regional biotechnology community statewide and by identifying and strengthening regional niche areas of application. Identify opportunities and assist in the establishment or recruitment biotechnology companies and serve as the regional conduit, advocate and primary contact to the programs and goals of the NC Biotechnology Center.

• Responsible for all account management activities of world wide Pharmaceutical companies, including customer relations, contract management and negotiations, annual forecasting and budgeting, monthly invoicing and overview the delivery of products. Also responsible for new business development activities for existing customers to assist them in meeting their strategic business needs, while focusing on the growth and profits of our Company. Responsible for more than $40MM in annual revenues. • Also responsible for activities associated with local, state and federal governments. Represent the Company at events and serve as liaison for all public related affairs, as well as serve on several Boards to better position our Company within the community to create a positive public image.

• Responsible for total compensation and benefits administration of 1,500 employees in North Carolina, Michigan, New Jersey and California. • Through an acquisition with DSM, a Holland based company, involvement included the design and negotiation of Executive compensation packages to assist in retaining key talent, while understanding the issues and differences associated with international compensation and benefits practices, as compared to North American standards. • Recruited to build a complete compensation and benefits structure to support a corporate start up operation. • Implementations included exempt and nonexempt compensation systems with an annual payroll in excess of $100MM, executive and employee incentive plans, core benefits design and administration, HRIS design and support for total corporation, as well as voluntary benefits program rollout.

• Responsible for total compensation and benefits administration of 7,500 employees and 3,000 retirees (exempt, non-exempt, non-union and union) in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. • Compensation consisted of merit increase administration with an annual payroll in excess of $270MM, executive and management incentive plans, multiple marketing sales plans, as well as three-year contractual negotiated wages for ten CWA/IBEW unions. • Areas of experience consist of job banding, job evaluation through the use of the Hay point system, job analysis, alternative rewards, and overall salary administration for the largest Local Telecommunications Division of Sprint. • Benefits consisted of managing a fully self-insured program consisting of ten HMO’s and three indemnity plans. Organizationally established a “benefits call center” to handle employee and retiree inquiries.
