I worked within the CRIS contract, which provides the Metropolitan Police with a Crime Reporting Information System. The CRIS system is a critical application with contractual requirements to provide continuous availability. The CRIS system comprises SQL Server 7 database, with VB6 Business layer and JavaScript/Asp page User interface. The project has of 2014 also been involved in providing a Web Service interface to the existing VB6 Business Layer, written in C#. I was involved in maintaining the existing system through enhancements and bug fixing. I also helped provide third line support of the CRIS system working one week in three on-call. I was responsible for writing and maintaining an application to extract Active Batch data into Excel spread sheets using Studio 2010 VB. The CRIS project was transitioned from EDS to Unisys in October 2006 and from Unisys to Accenture in July 2016. I was made redundant from Accenture when support for the CRIS project was moved to Newcastle at the end of August 2016. Enhancements were introduced initially by the traditional waterfall approach and latterly using Agile approach. I have attained ITIL 2 certification. I was the nominated first aid provider and fire marshal for my location.

During my time with EDS I worked on a variety of projects:• The Command Support System (CSS) project for the Royal Navy. Involved in the design and implementation of converting the CSS Stocks application from Oracle 7 forms to VB6. Responsible for designing and coding the Graphical User interface for the application as well as designing and coding the class and objects required to support the application.• Joint Exercise Management Support (JEMS) project for the UK Armed Forces Permanent Joint Head Quarters (PJHQ). The project provides secure environment within a Military Exercise where users can publish documents onto a local web site, and access to the published documents can be controlled. Part of team responsible for Designing and Implementing JEMS Exercise Library in VB6 and SQLServer. The functionality allowed searches for documents published across several exercises. Involved in updates to the JEMS Exercise support software across Client/Server systems, including SQLServer, VBScript, JavaScript, APS and HTML. Member of JEMS IT support to PJHQ on Exercise African Shield held in South Africa in November 2003.• Pre-Paid Services (PPS) application within EDS’s COMPAQ support project. Designing and developing VMS DCL scripts and VMS Oracle SQL stored procedures to load Prepaid Services data supplied in flat file format into Prepaid Services VMS Oracle RDB database. Responsible for creating VMS DCL and VMS Oracle RDB scripts to migrate Pre Paid Services data between different databases. Designed and implemented VB6 program to view Pre Paid Services flat data files graphically and allow their creation for purposes of testing.
