Working on research assignments for UK and international NGOs, from a range of causal areas, that are seeking to develop or improve their fundraising operations. Assignments were focused on researching the experience of comparator organisations and trends in the fundraising market in general. I was able to draw on both my senior fundraising and international development experience. Principal client: THINK Consulting Solutions, a leading UK fundraising consultancy.

Salisbury, Wiltshire

Plantlife is the UK’s wild plant conservation charity. On joining Plantlife my main goal was to raise the public profile of the charity in order to halt the decline in individual giving income. This was achieved primarily through a comprehensive rebranding of the charity’s marketing communications. Grant funding was also increased - for projects critical to reversing the major loss of wild plant diversity in recent decades.

Leading the multi-million pound grants fundraising operation for conservation and public engagement projects working with teams across the UK. This included major project development work which played a pivotal role in establishing/extending many high profile nature reserves such as Lakenheath Fen in Suffolk and Frampton Marsh in Lincolnshire.

As Marketing & Communications Manager - responsible for developing relations with the corporate sector and securing funds for international cultural relations projects, with assignments in Bahrain, Qatar, Thailand, China and South Africa. Corporate partners included Arup, Deloitte and Shell.As Contract Officer - part of a small team bidding for and delivering UK Government, European Union and World Bank technical assistance contracts in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
