About Mark Robinson
Hard working committed Teacher and Rugby Coach with a keen interest in all sport. I believe that Physical Education should use sports and other physical activities as a tool to teach physical, social, cognitive, personal, creative and health and fitness skills that can be applied to everyday life. I have the proven ability to integrate departments and ensure that every child’s educational experience is enjoyable and that they fulfil their potential. I am currently Director of Rugby at Vigo Rugby Club. Previous coaching experience as a level 9 club as Head Coach, Assistant Head Coach of a level 6 club and county level age grade coaching. In 2009 I ran a trip to Lusaka in Zambia, taking pupils to coach underprivileged youngsters how to play tag rugby. The Hurstmere in Zambia Project has now become a whole school initiative and was highly received in a recent Ofsted inspection. I ran a second tour in 2011 a third in 2013 a forth in 2016 and a 5th in 2018. We also went to Romania to run a similar project in 2015. The project has grown dramatically and since 2009 & to put a few numbers to it: 4.5 tons of clothing and equipment; taught over 5000 youngsters how to play tag rugby; taught over 50 young leaders; painted schools; created a library; planted a vegetable patches; raised over £110,000.
