Providing Command Leadership and management of Specialist Command and Support Wing at the Army School of Ordnance. I oversee the delivery of training for Initial Employment Training for Soldiers training to become, Parachute Riggers, Petroleum Operators, Clerk Admin as well as training for Battlefield Communication courses.

The Royal Australian Army Ordnance Corps is one of the largest supply organizations in Australia and is responsible for a very wide range of logistics tasks supporting the Australian Army.The Corps is concerned with providing supply chain management, warehousing and issuing all the Army's equipment. As the Platoon Commander of the Petroleum Platoon I am responsible for the management of the Petroleum Handlers who distribute fuel for the units supported by 1 Petroleum Company.

Headquarters 4 Brigade

As the Liaison Officer to the Commander of 4 Brigade I was required to administer all aspects of the Commander's administration, filter documentation for his approval, Liaise with internal and external stakeholders of the 4th Brigade. Speak to the Commanding Officers of the Direct Command Units within the Brigade on the Commanders behalf.

1 Petroleum Company

Working closely with the Operations cell. Management of Unit Resources; projecting trends of expenditure of Resource allocation, advising Commander on best courses of action in relation to capturing over expendature and cost saving solutions, designing budgets for the next financial year (TARP) assist in the devlopment of training programs for Soldiers.

Headquarters 9Th Force Support Battalion

Working on behalf of the Army, providing liaison between Defence Force Recruiting and the 9th Force Support Battalion I was responsible for the recruitment and initial attraction for potential recruits for various general entry roles. I organised support to recruiting events assisted with DFR’s implementation of recruiting events. I mentored new Soldiers prior to them going to Kapooka to conduct their initial training.

1 Petroleum Comapny

An Operator Petroleum is responsible for a wide range of technical fuel functions. Primarily I refueled vehicles and a range of fuel installations in the field, to keep the Army’s top machines functioning. I was also responsible for the operation of petrol, oils and lubricants equipment; laboratory testing and analysis of these products; and the storage, packaging and disposal of Dangerous Goods - including hazardous materials, but excluding ammunition and explosives. A key component of this role was the application of safety procedures and the ability to respond to an emergency, trained in the use of confined space equipment and fire fighting this became a pivotal point in my career.

4Th Combat Engineer Regiment (38Th Combat Engineer Squadron)

Working within the Engineer unit, providing the supervision and the management of a team of up to 10 Soldiers (Sappers)Providing guidance and direction for tasks as directed by the chain of command. Providing specialist advice to superior commanders and implementing commander’s intent to achieve desired outcomes. Tasks ranging from Demolitions, bridging and a broad range of Combat Engineer related projects.

4Th Combat Engineer Regiment (10Th Combat Engineer Squadron)

The Combat Engineer belongs to the Royal Australian Engineers (RAE) Corps. RAE soldiers are known as 'Sappers' and are responsible for assisting our own forces to move whilst also denying mobility to the enemy. Sappers are trained in a broad range of tasks including bridge-building, clearing minefields, demolitions, field defences as well as building, road and airfield construction and repair.A Sapper, trained as a Combat Engineer, is a combat soldier with a wide range of trade and technical skills. Combat Engineers can wield a chainsaw, build a bridge, clear a minefield, build a road or airfield and use explosives to demolish a target.The Combat Engineer is a soldier who is a specialist in military field engineering.
