After completing my BS in Mechanical Engineering in 1990 at the North Carolina State University, I was recruited and joined Milliken & Co., a world leader in textile and chemical manufacturing headquartered in Spartanburg, SC.In the first 20 years of my career, I grew as a shift supervisor, product/process improvement engineer, operations manager, and quality assurance leader in several of Milliken's flagship textile manufacturing locations. Leveraging methodologies based on the Toyota Production System, our operational teams achieved world-class performance levels for all critical KPIs and were awarded several prestigious awards such as the Malcolm Baldrige Award, JIPM excellence award and OSHA’s Safest Companies.As Milliken's business continued to grow under the strains of political and economic hardships in the textile industry from the NAFTA approval, Milliken and Co. embarked on the journey to deploy the Milliken Performance System. This deployment allowed Milliken to stay competitive and strive in the market and other companies took note. A new door opened when Milliken was being solicited by some very important customers to consult them on the TPS-based manufacturing methodologies. I leveraged my years in manufacturing and I took on the role of OpEx Consultant partnering with great companies including PepsiCo, WestRock, Goodyear, and Archer Daniel Midland.I am results-producing, decisive, collaborative Continuous Improvement and Operations Leader with over 30 years of experience in multiple roles with increasing levels of responsibility. I leverage analytical, organizational, team building, and planning skills to achieve a proven record of excellence. I lead and utilized TPM, Lean, and Six Sigma systems in operations and as a pillar leader.
