One technical challenge was discovering and working around metrics that were redundant even though they didn't look redundant, thereby improving the sensitivity of the resulting models. Pending development of a dashboard for management, simple 3D graphics proved to be the best way to present the results.Before that, I developed a way to know where folks spend their time given smart phone mobile location information. A fun part of this project was correcting for the fact that the Earth is not a sphere! Once again, 3D graphics proved to be a powerful visualization tool.More generally, I have deep experience bringing order, and incremental progress to important, messy information problems. For example, I was the lead extramural architect for the National Library of Medicine's Unified Medical Language System Metathesaurus.https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35102832/Before that, I was part of a team that developed a multi-institutional database of melanoma patients.My software development efforts are focused on re-inventing statistics assuming unbounded computing resources.
