A senior member of the sales and engineering team, Framework Manager and member of the senior management team, with a particular interest in MEICA projects.In my role as Proposals Engineer, my job is to understand client requirements, specifications and drivers and provide them with comprehensive priced technical proposals for solutions which meet their automation needs, budget and time constraints. I have sound control systems knowledge and experience, and am able to supplement this with a broad mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge. This role requires not only wide ranging technical knowledge and experience but also commercial and project management skills enabling my to compile a whole package of works, associated costs and programme. In addition to my role as Proposals Engineer, I act as Framework Manager for Fairfield's ICA framework with a national governmental environmental body. I work alongside both client Engineers and colleagues at all levels within the company who are engaged in project and PPM delivery of the framework, ensuring that the client needs and requirements are met commercially, technically and logistically.

I diversified from my previous design engineering role in order to build onexperiences gained and to increase both my own and the company’s sales/commercial capabilities. In this role, I reported directly to the Sales Director, producing proposals and quotations either to client specification, or formulated solutions in accordance with client operational requirements. In addition, I formulated project related Functional Design Specifications and lend support to the design engineering dept. in order to keep abreast of system developments. I have broad control system experience in many sectors such as materials handling equipment, steel and heat treatment, pharmaceuticals, bridge control systems and a wide range of flood defence / management systems.

Returning to the company after graduating and initially undertaking routine PPM and callout support, I progressed into control system design covering both hardware and software design but specialising in SCADA systems. During this time, I became involved in apprentice development and mentoring, helping them to build the founding skills on which they could build.
