Initially i joined the company in September 2017 as Senior Estimator. When the then current Estimating Manager retired i was promoted to that position. It was a small Estimating team which consisted of myself and a trainee Estimator. During my time there we did successfully tender for and win numerous jobs one of which was their highest value job. This project was Northumberland Square at North Shields - Conversion of a Grade II Listed building into two townhouses and ten luxury apartments and the Construction of fourteen new townhouse and three luxury apartments within the rear courtyard. Project value £5.5 million.Compass Developments (NE) Ltd use Conquest Q as their Estimating software.

Following the closure of Koru Property Services Ltd, I started working for Brims Construction. I reported directly to the Estimating Manager and Commercial Director and continued to work on similar sized projects.Brims Construction Ltd use Causeway as their Estimating software.

Team Valley, Gateshead

Initially when I joined Koru Property Services Ltd in May 2012 my role involved working alongside the Estimating Manager and occasionally assisting the Minor Works department. In July 2013 I was promoted to Estimating Manager, since then I have been solely responsible for pricing and securing all Major works estimates. My duties mainly include managing the estimating team which consists of a measurement surveyor, a trainee estimator and admin support, advising other support staff of tender submission requirements and reporting directly to the MD. The many estimates I have priced have been similar to that at Dorin and Esh.Koru Property Services Ltd used both Conquest and Causeway as their Estimating software.

When I joined Esh Group in April 2011, I worked alongside the Building Estimator Manager until he left the company in January 2012; his position was not filled and it was my responsibility to price the majority of all building enquiries. During my employment I priced work for Esh Build, Lumsden & Carroll Construction and Stephen Easten Specialist Building. As well as pricing for the Bowburn office I also priced several schemes for the Leeds office. Some of the Stephen Easten enquiries involved specialist refurbishment jobs for Ripon Cathedral, Wakefield Cathedral and St. Mary’s Cathedral in Newcastle.Esh Group use both Conquest and Causeway as their estimating software.

Upon leaving University I was employed by Dorin Construction Ltd. I started my career in the Estimating Department as an Estimating Assistant, my duties included inputting Bills of Quantities onto PC’s, marking up Bills and sending out enquiries for sub-contractor and supplier quotations. I rapidly progressed and initially worked along side the Estimating Director in pricing Civil enquiries. Due to the decline in Civil enquiries in the last eight years of employment with Dorin. I became more involved in Building Estimating and have priced and won a wide variety of schemes including New Build, Extensions, Alteration & Refurbishment. These schemes have been for both private and public clients including Bespoke Housing, Social Housing, Education, Healthcare, Retail, Industrial and Commercial builds.
