As Procurement Manager for DMAP, I look after procurements for Commercial Vessels and various equipment's for the RAN. DMAP is DNV ISO 9001 accredited and follows an approved modified CASG approach to procurements. Depending on the procurement type, I am involved in the statement of requirements, RFIQ, design through to manufacture and final acceptance.

Sustainment Manager MATV, I report directly to the senior lead team of the Amphibious Afloat Support Group (AASGRP) consisting of Capability Support Manager (CSM), Director MATV (IPM) and the Capability Managers Representative (CMR). The role I am responsible for is the performance and execution of the commercial sustainment contract, which includes but is not limited to leading on behalf of the Commonwealth review and acceptance of the monthly and quarterly Contract Status Reports, ensuring preventative and corrective maintenance is executed, development and management of proposed configuration changes, and input to the bi-annual Capability Assurance Working Group meetings. The role includes being Training, Configuration and Ship Manager. Ancillary duties include being the Principal Support and Maintenance Manager. The role also includes operational aspects including support to the Naval Liaison Officer on board the vessel.

Integration Manager - Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for Department of Defence Navy Minor Projects and Aviation Capability. I advised and assisted in the integration of UAS on major surface combatants through all facets of design, engineering and installation. Highlights include the successful design and integration of a fixed wing and VTOL UAS on the LSD and two FFGs. This was an exciting and interesting time for myself working at the forefront of a new potential capability.

As Project Manager Maintenance Services, I am responsible for the on-going development, daily running and successful tendering of BAE Systems East commercial Ship Refit Repair Panel Agreement submissions. This included managing minor projects of which the majority were upgrades to systems on the different ship classes. Over the period I have led three (3) Ship Refit Repair Panel Agreement tenders; been utilised as the trusted advisor for a major ship class group maintenance tender; instrumental in the move and Project Management of the Royal Navy Destroyer HMS DARING to Williamstown for an intense maintenance period and painting for the International Fleet Review and contributed to Installation Data Packs for the Australian Frigate (FFG) Integrated Material Support.

Led and coordinated the compilation of BAE Systems and Tenix Defence maritime projects, maintenance availability bids, project execution and warranty works for the past eight (8) years for commercial work undertaken at Garden Island Dockyard Sydney, selected maintenance activities at Williamstown Victoria and at the Forgacs Dockyard in Newcastle. These works have also included leading negotiations, chairing of Daily meetings with all stakeholders and production of all documentation for these works.Over the eight (8) years I have managed over eighteen (18) repair and maintenance activities including minor projects of four (4) week to thirty (30) week durations totalling approximately $54 million dollars and managing over twenty nine (29) different subcontract Companies with a project team of twelve (12) on average. I was also engaged as the subject matter expert for my intimate knowledge of RAN ship repair and refit for the major ship class repair tender.

As the Operations Co-ordinator for NSW I was responsible for the daily management and individual project management tasks for Tenix Defence Systems Support NSW; this role also extended to business development. As an internal business unit of Tenix Defence Pty Ltd, my business unit provided resources to Tenix Naval Refit and Repair Projects during the conduct of all RAN east coast maintenance availabilities. Our remit extended to: compilation of the tender bid, installation and repairs to weapons, electronic equipment’s and electrical work, project closure documentation for all East Coast Maintenance availabilities.During this period I was appointed as the Project Manager for two (2) maintenance activities worth in excess of $2.4 million dollars; two (2) minor projects worth in excess of $2 million dollars per annum and in excess of fifteen (15) discrete individual tasks culminating in over $7 million dollars of revenue per annum.

Completed three (3) years as a Senior Technician/Supervisor of the Sydney Office for Tenix Defence Pty Ltd. Prior to that role I completed over twenty (20) years of service in the Royal Australian Navy as an Electronic Technician serving predominantly on the Adelaide Class Frigates (FFG). I gained an extensive background in above water weapon systems on various RAN ship classes with my final appointment in the RAN was as the RAN Fleet Technical advisor for all ship class weapons systems managing a small team of experts.
