I am currently Head of College/Deputy Head at Leigh Academy and have over 22 years experience in education having previously had a wide range of responsibility. I am currently in charge of safeguarding and personal development having previously been responsible for behaviour, teaching & learning, professional development, monitoring of literacy and numeracy as well as leading a college. Previous experience includes being in charge of exams and qualifications, line managing subject areas, running gifted and talented, GTP and NQT mentoring, facilitation of NCSL accredited OTP and ITP programmes, development of VLE and website management. I have also worked in partnership with Pearsons Education on the development of their education network. I project managed the development of a bespoke mobile app. As part of my role, I also worked with the Western Quebec School Board on their peer review and self evaluation.I was involved in day to day pastoral management for 11 years including achieving the best GCSE results in the school's history when I was Head of Year 11. In January 2013, I became Vice Principal of the Leigh Academy and am currently responsible for line managing Humanities, English, MFL, D&T, numeracy, literacy, ICT infrastructure and the day to day running of the school. I have been involved in the evolution of teaching and learning and the integration of mobile devices into the Trust as well as being responsible for IT within the building. I have also written Teaching and Learning PD Programmes for The Trust. In addition, I have created our own Academy News Channel on YouTube and also manage the online profiles including social media and the website. I have been involved in working in both the Teaching and Learning Group and the Leadership Development Group for The Trust this year. I have worked with Google and have been invited to present at BETT Show for them in their Teaching Theatre for the last two years. I am currently DSL and behaviour lead.Prior to teaching, I worked for Lend Lease as a Commercialisation Project Manager at Bluewater and also worked on the Shell Centre re-development on South Bank. In addition to teaching I am also welfare lead and social media lead for a grass roots girls football club in Kent.
