RBS GBM deliver financing, risk management and investment services to corporations, governments and financial institutions around the world.Mark was a developer within the Pricing Execution Team and played a key part in the architecture & development of both Goldie Pricing Tools and Pebble Broker Quotes. Goldie Pricing Tools allow Traders to build complex Investment Strategies around Templated Derivative Instruments. The tool is in use by both the Volatility & Exotics Trading Desks, in London, Hong Kong & New York.Goldie was built using WPF (MVVM) .Net 3.5 & Prism (CAL) and uses SQL Server 2008 as its data store. Goldie was awarded Best Trading Platform at the Banking Technology Awards 2011Vanilla Pricer (Pebble) provides Traders with a view of “where the market is” as well as a method of very quickly pricing Vanilla options.Pebble primarily takes feeds of broker quotes for vanilla options from Vectalis, CScreen and Tradeweb and displays them alongside “our price” so that a trader can quickly compare in-house calculated fair values with current broker bid/offer spreads.As a secondary function Pebble provides a “Blotter” which allows traders to enter vanilla option details using shorthand and very quickly calculate fair-value using current market data.Pebble is written in C#/WPF on the .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 and uses SQL server 2008 as its data store.

Mark was a key developer for a number of strategically significant projects, all built using MS Analysis services with reporting carried out through bespoke ASP.net (C#) applications running dynamic MDX.

Mark architected and led the development of the new Cheapflights billing platform. The platform was based on Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services technology with feeds being handled through Microsoft Message Queue. In addition to the database element of the platform Mark also architected and built administration and reporting modules, using C# and ASP.Net.Marks other duties included a leading role in the Cheapflights Technology Strategy Group as well as mentoring and coaching existing ASP developers in the move to .Net

Mark was originally retained on a contract basis in order to lead the development of an Intranet based reporting system. Two months into the project Harrods approached mark with the offer of a permanent role, which he accepted.

Girovend PAT is the result of a merger between Girovend Cashless Systems and Public Access Terminals. The company specialises in cashless vending and access control utilizing smart card technology. Mark was originally hired to work on a “dotcom” start-up, a subsidiary venture which due to unforeseen circumstances was rather abruptly shelved. Mark was tasked with spearheading the development of G2 architecture including design, implementation and development of products.

Dataroam Limited was formed to take advantage of the advances in mobile telecoms such as GPRS and 3G. Dataroam specialised in providing wireless data based applications using the application services provider model. Dataroam have since been purchased by Aspective.Mark’s role encompassed “hands on” development as well as project leading the developers in the delivery of the following projects / applications.

Mark headed up the Intranet Applications team, which was part of EMEA IT for Dell Global, managing 6 developers as the “Centre Of Excellence” for the ASP & VB development projects. He was instrumental through all stages of each project cycle taking a leading hands-on development stance.
