A commercially minded proven professional with experience both at CEO and Vice Chairman level in the financial services industry and as a non-executive Board member in various businesses and sectors, ranging from UK based startups to multi-geographical SMEs.I describe myself as fair, rational, and strong on risk management and governance with problem solving and man management as core skills. I started my career in London in 1987 at WBB, an institutional German trading company, before moving to live and work for the firm in Germany for three years. On my return to London, I helped it set up and trade a multi-asset investment fund, before becoming an independent trader – a ‘local’ in the lingo – on the LIFFE and IPE exchanges in the mid-1990s.With the closure of the floors, I co founded the electronic trading group Trading Connections in 2000, which subsequently grew to become OSTC, with over 400 employees operating out of 8 countries. As OSTC’s CEO, I championed OSTC's culture and values, and ensured we remained focused on our strategic goals, and that everything we did was built upon secure foundations as a regulated firm with the FCA. With collective excellence and shared responsibility being at the heart of everything that we delivered, we remained passionate about the talent management and development of its people.My proudest achievement is helping to set up OSTC and watching it become the international organization it became before its recent asset sale to the Hertshten Group.In March 2021, I was delighted and incredibly proud to join Praetura Ventures in an advisory Operational Partner role. As one of the Operational Partners, I work closely with Praetura Ventures' portfolio companies, helping founders realize their ambitions and overcome any challenges. The role enables me to be a sounding board and, ultimately, provide "More Than Money" by drawing on my own executive experiences and expertise to support others. It has also enabled me to continue my non executive Board career that started 15+years ago and I currently sit on 3 portfolio company Boards and Praetura's investment committee.
