First introduced to the Cinema industry in 1983 where i worked as an Usher and candy bar assistant at the Empire Cinema in Bowral NSW Australia. Commenced studies in electronics and Audio Engineering after a couple of years, later progressing to managing the service and audio system calibration at the Empire and other independent exhibition houses around the South coast and Southern Highlands.While working as Projectionist / Chief Projectionist at the Empire and Campbelltown Twin Cinemas, i was also involved with the management side of the business.In 1991 moved to Queensland as Manager / projectionist for Cineplex Australia, and was responsible for the design of the expansion of the originally single screen Balmoral Cinema which was formally the AVRO open air Theatre.In Late 1994 Commenced as an installation assistant for Greater Union Theatre Supplies ( Now known as Edge Digital Technology, where i gained a full time position in Mid 1995.During this time i progressed to be the Queensland Technical Manager and was responsible for numerous GUO / BCC Cinema installation projects, routine service contract management for both major and independent exhibitors. Apart from the installation works i was involved with the management and installation of numerous upgrades to Digital Cinema throughout Australia as well as the Middle east.2011 i relocated to Dubai working for Majid Al Futtaim - VOX Cinemas as Technical manager.My responsibilities includedInput and review of auditorium designs provided by our companies architects.Specification and design of all Audio projection and control systems for new locations.Project management of projection system installations, and support for Vox Cinemas technical department.Later being promoted to Technical Director.Implementing new technologies and ensuring leading edge presentation in all Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas.In 2018 i joined Emarr working for REEL Cinemas, working as a senior technical manager for a period of 1 year.Currently i am Technical Director for MUVI Cinemas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.My role includes review of new cinema designs, design and specification of all projection and audio systems. Working with Dolby Cinema, CGV, Samsung ONYX and numerous ATMOS designs. 2020 was a huge year of growth for MUVI Cinemas, despite the global pandemic we opened 7 brand new cinema complexes in KSA bringing the estate to 10 complexes and over 100 cinema screens. The new cinemas featuring Dolby Cinema, Samsung ONYX, Xperience, Screen X and luxurious VIP Suites.
