Afghanistan

Responsible for supporting the Design & Engineering Department. Management and Supervision of the sub-contractors and KBR Technicians to implement problem solving techniques, organising as well as delegating workloads and producing progress reports. Identifying and ordering materials, liaising with the Logistics and Procurement, performing take-offs and pricing of equipment and materials. Producing technical specifications and costings for the MoDProject-Managing works to ensure they are completed on time and within budget, to the relevant European Standards.

Ethiopia

Responsible for various construction activities in a remote area of Ethiopia in support of a Minerals Exploration Company. Construction and civil works which include road building, drill pad preparation, camp building, airstrip building as well as various other construction/civil activities. Sourcing natural building materials from the field and gaining the necessary Land disturbance Approvals via local administration groups. Planning, preparing work schedules for local contractors. Supervising all construction related activities. Identifying plant requirements for current and future works, carrying out reconnaissance works to remote areas to determine future client locations. Rehabilitating areas of disturbed land to the satisfaction of client and The Ethiopian Ministry of Mines.

Site/Project Manager on a RAF base working closely with Modern Housing Solutions and Defence Estates, refurbishing 22 Servicemen’s family accommodation at RAF Leeming. Project included full internal refurbishments and external/ internal structural works including underpinning and reroofing. Involved from pre construction to completion. Contract value £1.8 million.

Planning, programming and day to day running of a Social Housing refurbishment project. Ensuring works are carried out to the required standards, monitoring quality, providing feedback to the project manager on the team’s performance, maintaining health and safety records. Manage and coordinate supply chain partners. Hold daily meetings with sub contractor. Also effectively managing the 12 months defect liability period ensuring that properties previously refurbished can be successfully handed back to the facilities management contractor after 12 months. Contract value £42 million.
