    During this time my responsibilities were many. In Assembly, the assembly of parts for the completion of an instrument cluster (speedometer, tachometer, fuel & temp gauges, colored lens, soldering of circuit boards, ultrasonic welding, assembly of main printed circuit boards with inner & outer cases, dial plates, diffusers, collars & light guides, running dial presses, pointer presses, air blow inner and outer hood & glass, check the functioning of the completed cluster in vision & illumination tents, final inspecting, packing, changing ribbon & labels when out, following SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures) utilizing Look & Sees, working with screw machines, aging racks; following proper procedures for trials and for service parts; doing 5 C's (clean up, cleanliness, classify, clarify, and conditioning); TPM (total productive maintenance); SPC (statistical processing controls); In Quality Control, line patrols, testing of finished products (instrument clusters) to insure quality products; much paperwork involved (i.e. Initial Parts Production, filling out of charts, entering of data, blueprints of various models, etc..); went to Honda to pick up Honda/customer rejects, sorts, etc..; in Molding learned about crane safety, operation of molding & glass machines & following proper procedures; in Production Control (& later Material Services), shipping & receiving of parts and meters; was licensed fork truck driver; scanning of parts for inventory control; stocking, putting work orders together for delivery to assembly lines; preparing daily, weekly, monthly, & 3-month forecasting of schedules; making manufacturing labels & box labels; service parts orders; putting parts received into stock in warehouse; ordering cardboard; Packing slips; Purchase requisitions; Many other duties too numerous too mention. I was a Staff Operator for 3 & 1/2 years in assembly (3 months); molding ( 3 months) quality control (9 months) and the remainder of that time in Production Control.

    As a Laboratory Technician my responsibilities included going out into production and getting x-number of seat samples to be compression tested and at certain times flammability tests. Results were to be entered into the Statistical Processing Control books. Some of my responsibilities as a Maintenance Clerk included organizing it to be more efficient for the maintenance men. A filing system was established and inventory was maintained using this as well as doing actual inventories of the various items used to insure no lack of production by assembly lines. Various parts had to be ordered by many different vendors (i.e. purchase requisitions); Conveyor line parts, fork truck parts had to be ordered and maintained and tools of maintenance men had to be replaced at times, so the job had many things that needed to be done, and the help of the Maintenance foreman made this job amazing as he was so helpful in so many ways.

    My responsibilities included the handling of cash, cashing checks, accepting deposits and processing them, night deposits as well, being on-call for the ATM (Any Time banking Machine) & having to do what I could to get it fixed (not maintenance), just possible jams or out of money; Issuing money orders, cashier's checks, traveler's checks, official checks, opening and accepting Christmas club accounts, opening checking and savings accounts, balancing out the teller window, operation of the various banking machines at that time, accepting loan payments, ordering & cashing in government bonds, accepting utility payments, opening and closing of branch bank insuring everything was locked up & everything in its proper place; taking the above to our processing center, as well as various other duties.
