I visit various sites of significant historical and archaeological value. My investigations involve site visits as well as online and desktop surveying. When investigating battlefields, I look at how the battle outcome may have been different depending upon how the combatants used and utilized the geography of the land at the time. In the last few years some examples of my field experience include Battle of Brunanburgh, loss of King John's baggage train, the Battle of Farmborough Head, HMAS Sydney II and the battle with SKS Kormoran. More recently I have been investigating a site on the Northeast coast predicted to be a high-status Viking burial site.
