About Mark T. Jones

Mark has had to stepped back from much of what he once did on health grounds, yet he continues to write, and campaign via social media on a variety of issues. He has an interest in population change across Africa and is eager to encourage greater foresight planning. Mark also believes that it is important to strive to change the lexicon and iconography of leadership.A fervent and widely-travelled internationalist, in the year 2000 he initiated and oversaw a major humanitarian venture into war-torn Sierra Leone, and then spent two years working in Jordan in the Middle East. An orator and writer of distinction, Mark is the author of several books and numerous articles. As part of his active commitment to scholarly endeavour, he is Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Higher Education Management (UK) and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Hinduism & Philosophy (UK). With a keen interest in different cultural traditions Mark is honoured to be a Patron and Member of the Advisory Board of the Bhavagad Gita Research Foundation (www.bgrfuk.org). In 1994 Mark was elected a Freeman of the City of London in recognition of various charitable endeavours. 2016 saw Mark being awarded a Fellowship of the Centre for Business & Economic Research (UK).Autumn 2020 sees the publication of Mark's next book: Dismas - The Penitent Thief: An Introduction. It will be available in print, as an eBook and as an audiobook read by Ciaran Saward.

    Mark is a fervent internationalist, who is interested in changing demographics, especially across Africa. He believes that it is important to strive to change the lexicon and iconography of leadership. Mark is the author of several books and numerous articles. Whilst advanced cancer has put pay to his work and extensive travel of former times, he continues to endeavour to use his writing and social media to highlight human wrongs in places as diverse as Cameroon and West Papua. Mark is a committed futurist, who is passionate advocate of greater foresight planning in society at large. In the summer of 2020 Mark initiated a campaign to commemorate the historic Jewish Community of the English city of Worcester – the city of his birth. His next book is entitled: DISMAS - The Penitent Thief: An Introduction, and this was released on 30th October 2020.

    Mark organised and co-ordinated the above appeal from start to finish. This was his own private humanitarian initiative. As part of this venture he visited and interviewed Sierra Leonean refugees in Basse and throughout The Gambia and spent seven weeks in Freetown where he targeted and distributed the 41 tons of donated educational and medical supplies that he had collected. He oversaw all arrangements, ranging from publicity and storage, to securing free containers and shipping. Mark also had high level meetings with senior diplomats, Sierra Leonean government ministers and the British Army, as well as persuading SkyNews to cover this story.
