Responsible for the delivery of grid modernization efforts upstate New York, including program management, project engineering, OT support, and change management. Grid Modernization programs include advanced grid technologies (FLISR, VVO, etc.), operational telecom (modernization and buildout of our private telecom networks), and digital substations (IEC 61850 and online monitoring).
To support National Grid’s aspiration as a world leader in the electricity transmission business, the company in endeavoring in a wide-scale digital substation transformation to reduce costs, increase reliability, reduce maintenance, and expedite construction. The digital delivery group will be creating the foundation for the future electrical substation. The group is responsible to ensure an efficient and fast-paced large-scale adoption of digital substation equipment, with a goal of over 150 substation projects in the next 10 years throughout New England and New York service territories. In this position I am accountable for the strategy and execution of the company’s digital substation transformation vision. This vision includes repeatable, reliable, and efficient substation design, construction, and operation for a scalable deployment of digital substation technology. The digital delivery group has program manager focused on IEC 61850 (digital control and protection systems) and enhanced asset monitoring, as well as communications, training, and IT/cybersecurity support individuals
