I enjoy working in the Learning and Development field. I starting my L&D journey 13 years ago as a Regional Training Coordinator, looking after approx. 580 staff training Care. I use my previous skills as a Clinical Nurse and Educator to assist in the training . I became proficient in basic IT skills using Word and Excel daily in my training function. Within five years I had became a Regional Training Manager, starting up new processes including audit and the increase of learning titles for learners to access. I successfully complete the CIPD Certificate in Training, and along with other bespoke development courses I was able to broaden my methodology in practice producing benefits for the organisationFour years ago the organisation re-structured the Training department, allowing RTM’s to commence `portfolio` controls of training. I currently lead on Inductions, eLearning and Health and Safety training. Major changes I have made include a new LMS using moodle, allowing all learners to access a number of strategic courses as well as some professional development ones. Recently working alongside our LMS developer, we have been able to use new bespoke eLearning courses allow more choiceFour years ago I published `Back2Basics` a competency based assessment that all new carers must complete alongside their Common Induction Standards. . This simple competency based learning makes The Orders of St John Care Trust a market leader when looking to develop competent staff. I start a new challenge working for Lincolnshire's Workforce Development and all it exciting new procesess
