This goes back to the late 70s where I started with a keen interest in Electronics. While still at school I used to call in to see the local alarm company with a list of Electronic Components I needed to build my latest project, eventually they suggested going to Maplin. I then started building some of their kits, most of which I still have, somewhere. I did a bit of Machanical engineering while still at school, like welding, rebuilding a couple of engines. Then went on to the YTS scheme and started out at the Britsh Rail Drawing office in York. Wasn't there long when I was asked if I would swap with someone was struggling at a TV shop as they were colour blind, I said yes. So the early 80s is when I started out in the world of Consumers Electricals and Electronics, Audio/Video, Aerial/Satellite etc....I then went to Kitson College in Leeds where I did the City & Guilds 224 Electrical & Electronics Service and Installation course. Back in those days we didn't have much Tech, just TV, VCR (VHS, Betamax even V2000) and a Surround Sound System (we used to demonstrate them in the shop with Top Gun), Laser Disc and also the Microwave Oven came out and we demonstrated them also but the amount of Tech has grown ever so slightly since then. Fast forward to 1991, I moved to Scotland and accidently started working for myself and been here ever since. I've kept up with training and improving myself with additional qualifications to cover the huge scope of Technology that is out there and find more exciting and fascinating than ever before. I still build and code kits for fun with the likes of RaspberryPi, Arduino and ESP32 and others, which the basis of a lot of the world around us. I've enjoyed my career in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and hope I can continue for as long as I can and hope to encourage some youngsters out there that it is a fascinating business to be in and recommend they get involved as this world of Tech is only going to get better. For the last 10 years or so I've been playing around with many different Smart Home Control Systems and some I've been building from scratch, from component level and this has led to various mean of programming, coding and playing around with script. To sum up, Tech has been my entire life and it's more exciting now than ever before, it can only get better.
