Built custom test fixtures to improve test yields and repeatability and moved to computer-aided testing(VAX and early PC (HPIB/488)).

Performed production and return repairs of microprocessor-controlled RS-232 protocol analyzers. Developed firmware-based testing software for older products. Analyzed and implemented component/circuit changes to eliminate common problems. Supported US Navy contract group in testing older discrete component equipment. Assisted engineering by prototyping a new 68000-based protocol analyzer, including fixture fabrication and startup-firmware development and troubleshooting basic operation.
