The role is the same level as Managing Engineer and is designed to focus more on technical delivery and less on formal staff management.I am responsible for the delivery of all technical aspects of both new and current model programs in the area of Suspension, Driveline and Powertrain mounts, leading a team of 4 to 6 senior and specialist engineers. In this role I have:• Led cross functional teams with members from diverse business areas such as Purchasing, Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering and Suppliers to deliver complicated subsystem design projects to tight and inflexible timelines. Work in these teams has often required a significant level of negotiation to ensure that the needs of all team members are understood and accommodated as much as possible.• Delivered a successful model year 14 (VF Commodore) program with significant new suspension content which has resulted in both improved performance and reduced mass. This project required the integration and concurrent development of a number of major new components. I had overall responsibility for the coordination and delivery of the suspension and driveline systems.• Assisted General Motors North America with engineering resource on a future model passenger car program. My involvement required developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders from a number of functional areas in North America.• Developed a new suspension system which has been approved for patent filing by General Motors North America.
