As a school counselor for the last 23 years, I have become somewhat of a self-proclaimed expert in the area of college counseling, given that I was the college counselor at a high school previous to my current position. Currently, as a generalist counselor for approximately 260 students, I have to be a jack-of-all-trades helping students become college and career ready, sustain academic success, and provide emotional and social support including brief counseling strategies for many of the common mental health issues that our teens currently face including anxiety, depression, perfectionism, substance use, and living in dysfunctional home settings. Further, I have a Masters degree in Educational Technology so I can offer my knowledge as an emerging tech leader, but am also looking to learn from others that have been using tech successfully to enhance student learning within the 21st Century.
