Current- Continuation of duties outlined in postdoctoral section - Exploring mitochondrial sites of superoxide and hydrogen peroxide generation in driving pathology and negatively impacting aging.
- Collaborated with SENS Research Foundation developing technology that expresses wild type copies of mitochondrial genes to rescue mitochondrial DNA mutated counterparts. I designed the breeding scheme, wrote the IACUC.
- On going collaboration with Prof. Birgit Schilling to use proteomics to identify protein changes in response to treatment with S1QELs in mouse efficacy models.
- Assist with overseeing lab activities and management, working in conjunction with the lab PI and research associates.
Lifelong Learning Course Instructor
I am an instructor for two modules, ‘Biologic Basis of Aging’ and ‘Age-Related Diseases’ for the Buck Institute’s Lifelong Learning course on the Biology of Aging. The Navigage Foundation generously funded this mini course to educate older adults in the community about aging and aging research. I tailor and update each presentation for a non-scientific.
Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Lab Of Prof. Martin Brand)
- Exploring mitochondrial sites of superoxide and hydrogen peroxide generation in driving pathology and negatively impacting aging.
- Ran mitochondrial high-throughput screen for specific electron-leak site compounds to support SAR.
- In vivo lead to a collaborative biotech & pharma drug program where I worked on multiple projects simultaneously and worked as part of a cross-functional team.
- Designed, developed, and ran several PK/PD mouse models, and satellite PK studies.
- Researched, designed, and ran several mouse efficacy studies under the umbrella of insulin resistance, NASH, Aging, mitochondrial mutations, toxicity models (APAP, cisplatin, tunicamycin, antioxidant defence, and IBD.
- Wrote IACUC protocols that adhered to safety policies and institutional SOPs for approval of mouse studies.
Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Lab Of Prof. Pankaj Kapahi)
My research explored the effects of diet and age on intestinal health and integrity and whether they intersect to negatively impact aging. Using intestinal RNA-seq data from two different diets, I performed several genetic screens looking for factors that affected intestinal integrity (intestinal permeability, apoptosis, and proliferation as readouts) and.
Alumni Annual Giving Fundraiser Supervisor
I supervised a team of 18 telephone fundraisers per shift. I was involved in recruitment and training, troubleshooting issues, as well as setting and reaching fundraising goals. The 'Circles of influence' fundraising campaign raised a total of £193.4 million. It was the largest and most successful charity fundraising campaign outside Oxford, Cambridge and.
